Storm Events: Taking Sustainable Events Seriously

“It felt daunting trying to fathom what environmental standards would support our strategy, with so many standards around like BCorp, Ecovadis and ISO 140001. Simon and the team at GEF helped us to understand where we should focus our efforts and what was achievable. We’ve already started exploring several ways we can use sustainability to improve how we run our business and the team are really fired up about what we could do

Coventry City Council - Desktop audit of 55 schools for PSDS submission; £2.4 funding secured. A further audit of 7 buildings for heat decarbonisation

“It’s vital that Coventry City Council delivers carbon reductions to support both our regional ambition of Net Zero by 2041 and the UK-wide Net Zero targets. Greener Energy Futures helped us successfully apply for £2.4m to improve the energy efficiency of our school buildings through the Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. They have also supported us with the additional surveys needed for developing heat decarbonisation plans for 7 challenging buildings. Their insights shaped options to decarbonise our heating systems in these buildings. Their input has been invaluable throughout the inceptions and delivery of our PSDS scheme especially in hitting tough Salix deadlines and has been an essential part of assessing options and raising the funds to tackle our Net Zero goals”

Southmead Development Trust

“In our local community we need to take every opportunity to decarbonise and sustain our essential community services and buildings. Working with Greener Energy Futures over the last 2 years has been instrumental in use starting to turn this vision into a reality. One of the biggest challenges was to know what to do first and understanding the technologies available. Working closely with their expert installation partners, GEF have helped us to identify how we can achieve this cost-effectively and have helped us prioritise and design changes in conjunction with existing organisational goals. For example, we’ve improved the comfort and accessibility of our Centres through insulation and lighting measures. Overall, saving over tonnes of carbon emissions and energy costs is a big win for our organisation, community, and the climate. We look forward to continuing our work with Greener Energy Futures to deliver further carbon, cost and comfort improvements for our community”
